Dorothy Irene “Irene” Fuller, 88, of Conneaut Lake, died at home Monday, January 5, 2015 surrounded by her family.
She was born May 9, 1926 in Cranesville a daughter of John and Mary Pavolko Huya. She married James Arthur Fuller September 28, 1946 and he preceded her in death May 7, 2008.
She and her husband operated the Red & White Grocery Store in Conneaut Lake from 1954-1965 and previously she had worked at Kennedy’s General Store in Cranesville for 5 years.
She was a 1944 graduate of the former Albion High School where she was the class salutatorian. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church, its Alter Rosary Society, was a former CCD teacher, and made children’s baptismal gowns for many years. She enjoyed baking, cake decorating, cookbooks, sewing, music and taking care of her houseplants.
She is survived by a son, Terry L. Fuller and his wife Kathy of Conneaut Lake; three grandchildren, Brent A. Fuller and his wife Kristen and their son Aidan and daughter Emma, Kevin L. Fuller and his wife Leigh and their children Sheyn and twins Kortni and Kylee, and Heather M. Fuller and her daughter Allee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her oldest son, Blaine E. Fuller in 1976 and two brothers, George R. Huya and Jack Huya.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake with a Rosary Service at 7:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth St., Conneaut Lake with Fr. Philip Oriole, Pastor of St. Lawrence Church, Albion as Celebrant.
Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Crossingville.
