Dorothy K. Jones Anthony, 74, of Guys Mills, died Monday, November 5, 2012 at UPMC Hamot, Erie. She was born May 12, 1938 in Guys Mills a daughter of Joseph T. and Bertha V. Hodge Kaputa, Sr. She married James O. Jones and he preceded her in death in September 1967. She subsequently married Clair E. Anthony February 28, 1971 and he preceded her in death January 6, 2000. She was a 1956 graduate of Randolph East Mead High School. She worked as a meat cutter for Super Duper and then Quality Markets Grocery Stores in Meadville. She and her husband Clair then owned and operated the Silver Dollar (now Scoreboard) in Meadville from 1972-1978. In 1983 after managing Hunters Inn in Frenchtown for several years, she and Clair and her brother Jim and his wife Bonnie purchased the restaurant and owned it until 2001. She was a member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, VFW Post #2006 Auxiliary, Eagles Lodge #429 Auxiliary, Moose Chapter #2143 and the Meadville Hunting and Fishing Club. She enjoyed camping, shuffleboard, going to casinos and trips to Las Vegas. But, her main enjoyment in life was spending time with family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Jones Peterson and her husband Larry of Greenville, Jane Jones Butryn and her companion Kevin Lippert of Cochranton and Jody Anthony Fetterhoff of Meadville; two step-sons, Ed Anthony and his companion Becky of Meadville and Dale Schlosser and his wife Terri of Meadville; four grandchildren, Amanda Shattuck Allen and her husband Brandon of Cochranton, Kayla Anthony of Meadville, Brandon Peterson of Greenville and Breanna Peterson of Greenville; three step grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Shay and her husband Daniel of Meadville and Darlene Jablon and her husband Dan of Greenville; a brother, James R. Kaputa of Guys Mills and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ann Jones Shattuck; a brother, Joseph T. Kaputa, Jr. and a sister, Virginia Acker. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, 25997 State Hwy 27, Guys Mills, PA with the Very Rev. Michael T. Kesicki, Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared at waidfuneralhome.net
