Dorothy L. Byham

Dorothy L. Byham, of Meadville, died Friday, June 30, 2000 at Wesbury UM Community following a brief illness.

She was born January 11, 1936 in Guys Mills, a daughter of the late William G. and Ava E. Miller Peterman.  She had been married to Nicholas Gable.  She subsequently worked at local health screenings, administering different tests.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She attended Carmel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Peircy (Jake) of Meadville; two sons, William Gable (Margie) of Tennessee and Robert Gable (Eileen) of Abbeyville, SC; four stepchildren, Randy Byham (Lois), Mona Stearns (Eugene), Darla Goodman (Finley) and Rick Stevenson (Rhonda), all of Meadville; three sisters, Ava Jean Peterman of Conneautville, Betty Hodge (Douglas) of Jackson Summit and Rachel Barr (Rick) of Meadville; two brothers, William G. Peterman (June) of Conneautville and David L. Peterman (Linda) of Conneautville; seven grandchildren, William Gable (Jessica), Stacey Gable, Brandy Gable, Bobbie Jo Gable, Josh Piercy, Jeremy Piercy and Jenna Piercy; eleven step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Gable and a brother, L. G. Peterman.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
