Dorothy L. Heasley

Dorothy L. Heasley, 98, a resident of Rolling Fields, Conneautville, died there Thursday, September 30, 2004.

She was born in Crawford County August 1, 1906, a daughter of the late John L. and Caroline Smock Leighty.  She married Lawson P. Heasley and he preceded her in death October 27, 1967.

She was a homemaker and had worked at Talon for 33 years as an inspector.  She was of the Presbyterian faith.  She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a lifetime member of the Vernon Grange.  She loved her family and enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking and especially pie baking.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann DeJoia of Meadville; a granddaughter, Joanne Frazee (Garry) of Meadville; a grandson, John DeJoia (Candy) of Santa Fe, NM; two great-granddaughters, Keylea Keas of Meadville and Tawnua Hull of Conneautville; three great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Henry and John Leighty and three sisters, Marie Hogue, Sadie Onspaugh and Reba Comstock.

Services were held at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
