Dorothy Louise Hargenrader

Dorothy Louise Hargenrader, 89, of Guys Mills, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born July 23, 1932 in Meadville, a daughter of Delbert and Sarah Brady Gable. She married Donald L. Hargenrader April 11, 1959 at St. Hippolyte Church and he preceded her in death March 26, 2018. Dorothy was a homemaker and worked in the dietary department at Meadville City Hospital. She also loved providing childcare for her grandchildren and was a member of St. Hippolyte Church. Survivors include two sons, Harold Hargenrader (Christina) of Meadville and Gerald Hargenrader of Guys Mills; a daughter, Cheryl Hargenrader Hartman (Daniel) of Union City; six grandchildren, Brooke and Wesley Hargenrader and Daniel, Matthew, Shania, and John Hartman (Keely); six great-grandchildren, Malayna, Mohana, Ashley, Sophia, Braelyn, and Aaliyah; a sister, Margaret Benak; a brother, Edward Gable (Lucille); and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Goodman, all of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Hargenrader, Jr.; four sisters, Esther Popovich, Katherine Clark, Annabelle Gable, and Ethel Luzier; and five brothers, Albert, James, Harold, Charles, and Arthur Gable. Calling hours will be Friday, September 10th from 4-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with a Scripture Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Hippolyte Church, 26012 N. Frenchtown Rd., Guys Mills with Fr. Joseph Petrone as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
