Dorothy M. Dean

Dorothy M. Dean, 86, of Meadville, died Monday, January 29, 2001 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie following a brief illness.

She was born September 23, 1914 in Memphis, TN, a daughter of the late Leon C. and Mary E. North Mosier, Sr.  She married H. Morris (Chub) Dean December 25, 1935 and he preceded her in death August 11, 1985.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School and a member of Stone United Methodist Church.  She was a homemaker who was a fantastic cook and loved her flower garden.  She enjoyed square dancing and was a part of the Conneaut Kickers Square Dance Club, Conneaut Lake.

Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie L. Foreman (Richard) of Meadville; a son, David M. Dean of Lolo, Mont.; three grandchildren, Rebecca Kirik (Robert) of Union City, Deborah Thompson (Mark) of Conneaut Lake and Roberta Steele (Todd) of Mercer; and six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Katie, Rachel, Ben, Lauren and Blair.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Cannoles and a brother, Leon Mosier, Jr.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Denny Cemetery.
