Dorothy M. Sharrer

Dorothy M. Sharrer, 86, of Lincoln, NE, a former Meadville resident, died Saturday, December 8, 1990, at her residence following a period of failing health.

She was born in Pittsburgh on December 3, 1904, a daughter of Lloyd and Oda Mays Balt.  She married G. Howard Sharrer on July 31, 1934.  He died February 17, 1978.

She taught school for 30 years, first in Altoona and later in Meadville, retiring in 1968.  She attended Indiana State Teachers College and obtained her teaching certificate from Edinboro State Teachers College.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Donald H. Sharrer of Apollo; three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Blanche) Nelson of Florida, Mrs. Peter (Gretchen) Cline of Camp Hill and Mrs. George (Jane) Schandelmeier of Altoona; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd W. Sharrer and a brother Lloyd Balt.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
