Dorothy Miller Shea, 80, formerly of Westlake, OH, and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died Friday, January 14, 2000, following a period of declining health.
She was born December 12, 1919, at Ligonier, a daughter of the late James Karl and Alice Isabelle Stom Miller. She married John J. Shea on May 19, 1962. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1992.
She was a 1937 graduate of Meadville High School and was a member of the Senior Six and Scholastic Honor Society. She worked for Remler-Shuman Insurance Agency of Meadville and then Columbian Vise Co. of Cleveland. She attended might school for several years at the Case Institute of Technology at Cleveland and received her bachelor of science degree in education. She subsequently taught elementary school in Cleveland for many years.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for many years.
Survivors include three sisters, Clara J. Bitler of Newton, NJ, Mrs. Arden (Margaret K.) Pardee of Guys Mills and Mrs. Dan (Ann Mary) Fox of Meadville and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Joel Pardee.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
