Mrs. Dorothy P. Ford, 80, widow of Herbert Lyman Ford, of Meadville, formerly of Guys Mills, died at Spencer Hospital, Thursday, January 31, 1985, after a sudden illness.
She was born at West Stockbridge, Mass., July 26, 1904, a daughter of Fabian Victor and Evalyn Cobb Pettit. She married Herbert Lyman Ford, who died December 17, 1950.
She was employed as a school teacher in Massachusetts, was housekeeper at Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Allegheny College, and later was employed in housekeeping at the former Flickinger Convalescent Home.
She was a member of First Christian Church and its Friendship Sunday school class.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Joyce) Graham of Meadville; three sons, Herbert W. Ford of Bethany, OK, Jonathan S. Ford of Greensfork, IN and Henry D. Ford of Severn, MD; a sister, Mrs. Martha Fadding of Housatonic, Mass.; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
