Dorothy S. Boswell

October 5, 1921 — December 10, 2015

Dorothy S. Boswell, 94, formerly of Gilmore St., Meadville and a current resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died there Thursday, December 10, 2015.

She was born October 5, 1921 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of Ruben and Geraldine Rickard Stainbrook.  She married Frank R. Boswell August 9, 1947 and he preceded her in death February 8, 2006.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was an excellent cook and baker, loved her walks, and being outside and her garden.

Survivors include three sons, Robert P. Boswell and his wife Annette of Meadville, Jeffrey W. Boswell and his wife Jeannie of Cochranton, and Charles D. Boswell and his wife Ann of Waterford; a son-in-law, Joe Frazer of Ashville, NC; seven grandchildren, Kyle Boswell, Molly Boswell Caruso, Zachary Boswell, Alyse Boswell, Sam Boswell, Jean Frazer Higgenbotham, and Jeffrey Frazer; a brother, Keith Stainbrook of Florida; two sisters, Rachel Egli of Tennessee and Ruby Roland of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Boswell Frazer and several brothers and sisters.

There are no calling hours and a private family memorial service will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wesbury Foundation (for the benevolent care fund), 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, PA 16335 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 1128 State St., Suite 301, Erie, PA 16501.
