Dorothy S. Hawk

Dorothy S. Hawk, 97, of Meadville died Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Meadville Medical Center surrounded by loving family and friends.

She was born December 22, 1912 in Meadville a daughter of William G. and Jane L. Miller Snyder.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School and she first worked to help support her family at the F.W. Woolworth Co.  She then worked at Talon Inc. for 31 years, retiring from the Inspection Department.  She attended the Meadville Alliance Church and was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School class.

Survivors, include: two nieces, Billie Jo Coleman of Franklin and Lisa Beth Koch of Myrtle Beach, SC; a grand nephew, Shawn Trotter; a grand niece, Kasey Coleman and a cousin, June Murray of Meadville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn Snyder and Isabelle Mae Koch and a niece Jane Davenport Ruttan.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. with Wayne Kurtz, Assistant Pastor of the Meadville Alliance Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
