Dorr Leo Davenport, 85, of Meadville and a resident of Park Avenue Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, died there, Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
He was born in Titusville April 15, 1929 a son of Floyd and Vera (Murray) Davenport. He married Genevieve Seeley June 4, 1999 after they had been together for 20 years and she survives.
He was a graduate of Titusville High School. Over the years, he owned and operated several auto body shops in both the Meadville and Titusville areas. He also was a driver for several years with Anderson Coach and Travel.
He attended First Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member and Past President of Meadville Eagles Aerie #429, a member of VFW Post #2006, the Italian Civic Club and American Legion Post #111. He enjoyed camping, golfing and bowling and participated is several area leagues. He also enjoyed and was an excellent dancer. He always had a smile on his face, enjoyed a good joke, had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Genevieve and partner of 35 years, include; two daughters, Kathryn Hamilton and her husband Brian of Meadville and Deborah Fronce of Meadville; a son, Chris Fronce and his wife Tracey of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Doris Brown of Titusville; nine grandchildren, Jason Fronce and his wife Dawn, Tera Hamilton, Amber Hamilton Staff and her husband Andrew, Jennifer Hamilton Reitz and her husband Terrell, Karl Hamilton and his fiancée Marissa Fleck, Lashondra Fronce, Megan Fronce, Emily Fronce and Sarah Fronce; seven great grandchildren, Riley Fronce, Samantha Fronce, William Staff, Rosie Staff, Pippa Staff, Brendan Reitz and Natalie Reitz and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Freda (Nelson), Eyla (Ongley), Bea (Price) and brother Keith.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Walton, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
