Douglas E. Ruby, 47, of Meadville, died Monday, May 28, 1990 at Meadville Medical Center following an illness of 18 months.
He was born in Meadville on March 24, 1943, son of the late Ernest W. and Melba Prall Ruby. He married Marlene Jones on January 18, 1964. She survives.
He had been employed by Alltel as an installer and repairman over the last 19 years and had served as a department Waterways Conservation Officer for the last 10 years. He attended the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 234, and the New Castle Consistory; he was a member and past monarch of Kismet Grotto and a member of Elks Lodge 219.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Kimberly Smith of Meadville and Stephanie Smith of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Mrs. Wallace (Dawn) Yoder of Meadville; a brother, William E. Ruby of Dayton Beach, FL; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and four grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
