Doyle D. Taylor

April 27, 1912 — August 16, 1995

Doyle D. Taylor, 83, of Meadville, died Wednesday, August 16, 1995, at Meadville Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Charleston, WV, April 27, 1912, a son of the late Edwin and Mabel Frampton Taylor.  He married Mary Nider, April 5, 1934.  She preceded him in death May 10, 1986.  He subsequently married Norma Noga, March 9, 1988.  She survives.

He retired in 1974 as a plant guard at Meadville Malleable Iron Co. after 10 years of service.  He previously was employed in the maintenance department of Conneaut Lake Park for nine years.  He was a foreman in the wash house at the Keystone Ordnance Works.

He attended Barton Road United Brethen Church and was affiliated with Church of the Word International.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Mrs. Elliott (Delma Jean) James of Glenshaw, Mrs. Ward (Lea) Waid of Rochester, NY and Mrs. Kenneth (Carol Ann) Fry of Meadville; two sons, Doyle E. Taylor of Cleveland, GA and Charles L. Taylor of Meadville; two brothers, Dallas and Dennis Taylor, both of Cabin Creek, WV; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolores Taylor; a son, Delmar J. Taylor and a brother, Delmar Taylor.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
