Dr. Earle A. Griffiths

September 19, 1882 — May 25, 1964

Dr. Earle A. Griffiths, 81, who retired in 1955 after 43 years practice as a chiropractor in Crawford County, died Monday, May 25, 1964, at City Hospital after a long illness.

He was well known also as a leader in veterans' affairs.  A veteran of the Boxer Rebellion and the Philippine insurrection, he was commander of Walter A. Wilson Camp, Spanish War Veterans.  He was first commander of Huidekoper Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, which he helped to organize.

Dr. Griffiths, active in Masonry, received a 50 year Masonic Service Emblem last January.  He was a past master of Titusville Masonic Lodge 754.

He was born in Meadville September 19, 1882, a son of William T. and Laura B. McMichael Griffiths.  His wife, the former Mary B. Stevenson, whom he married October 18, 1905, died April 10, 1958.  He first established practice as a chiropractor in Titusville and later moved back to Meadville.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Meadville Grange.

Dr. Griffiths is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ralph J. (Thelma) Winters of Meadville and Mrs. Edwin G. (Laura) Ayer of Bowling Green, OH; a brother, Leroy W. Griffiths of Onedia, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
