Dr. Glen S. Phillips, 80, of Meadville, died at Spencer Hospital early Friday morning, November 10, 1972, after a short illness.
He was born at Gaines, PA on November 23, 1891, a son of Wallace Hoyt and Mabel Shattuck Phillips. In 1919, he married Angela Alger who died in 1941. He married Corinne T. Keeton in 1942. Dr. Phillips was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry in 1912 and operated a dental practice with Dr. H. C. Sturdevent in Linesville before World War I. During World War I, he served as a first lieutenant in the Navy and spent 18 months duty in Europe. Following World War I, he started a dental practice in Meadville. He retired in 1960. Dr. Phillips was a member of Crawford County Dental Society, a member and past president of PA Dental Society, a member of the American Dental Assn. and the American Academy of Preiodontology, a fellow of International College of Dentists and a member of Delta Sigma Delta professional fraternity and Linesville Masonic Lodge. He was a former member of Meadville Rotary Club and Roundtable.
Survivors include his widow and a nephew, Wallace H. Phillips of Conneaut, OH.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Wellsville Cemetery, NY.
