Dr. Lee D. Mcclean

Prof. Lee D. McClean, 83, of Meadville, professor emeritus of sociology at Allegheny College, died Sunday, March 8, 1970, at Mead Nursing Home after a long illness.

Prof. McClean played a leading role in important community activities to his teaching and counselling work on the college campus.

He was born in Denver, IL, May 31, 1886, a son of Louis B. and Laura V. Green McClean.  He was graduated from Culver Stockton College, Canton, MO in 1909.  He attended Yale University for his graduate work.

Surviving are his widow, the former Jennie McRoberts whom he married September 10, 1914; two daughters, Mrs. Miriam Bolard of Meadville and Mrs. Donald (Jane) Richards of Sarasota, CA; a sister, Miss Anna McClean of Ravenna, OH and four grandchildren, Sandra, Sally, Scott and Pamela.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
