Dr. Ross V. Pineo

Dr. Ross Victor Pineo of Erie and formerly of Meadville, passed from this life on Monday, December 21, 2015 after losing a long battle with depression.

He was born January 25, 1975 in Meadville to Att. William Pineo and Dr. Patricia Prather Pineo.  He graduated from Conneaut Lake High School in 1992, from Dickinson College in 1996, and from the University of Maryland Dental School in 2001. After completing an internship in Youngstown, OH, he joined the practice of Dr. Tom Kellogg in Meadville. Since 2003 he had operated Pineo Family Dentistry in Edinboro.  He cared deeply about his patients and about the practice of dentistry.

In 1996, he married Sara Hauck.  Their three children were the love of his life: Samuel Jonathan, Rachel Grace, and Jessica Rose, all attending Meadville schools.

Dr. Pineo was well-known for his zany sense of humor and his quick wit.  He pursued many passions, from music to Mud-runs to scuba diving.  He will be sorely missed by his family, his patients, and his many friends.

He was a member of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to Sara, his children and parents, Dr. Pineo is survived by brothers Dr. Thomas Pineo (Tania) of Greenville and Dr. Caleb Pineo (Nisrine) of Durham, NC; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Pineo of Meadville; his mother-in-law, Nancy Hauck of Meadville; and nephews and nieces, Elizabeth Pineo, Emily Pineo, Ellen Pineo, Zavier Pineo, Fletcher Pineo, Eli Pineo and Sawyer Pineo.

Ross was predeceased by his brother, Isaac Pineo; his maternal grandparents, Frank Prather and June Prather Good; and his paternal grandparents, Victor Pineo and Beatrice Elizabeth Pineo.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer service at 3:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville with the Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Lucas as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., Meadville, PA 16335.
