Dr. Sharlene Brown

Dr. Sharlene Brown, 71, formerly of Saegertown and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, died there, Sunday, December 24, 2006.

She was born in Meadville, June 2, 1935 a daughter of Dr. Kenton and Carletta Hanks Bertram.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School, Spencer Hospital School of Nursing and Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, IN.

She was a Doctor of Chiropractic working with her father before opening her own practice with offices in Corry and Saegertown.  She retired in 1998.  She enjoyed 4-wheeling, miniature horses, her mules, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Survivors, include: a daughter, Kimberlee Miller and her partner Susan Lethco of Saegertown; three grandchildren, Dan Miller and his wife Katie of Conneautville, Dean Miller of Saegertown and Sharlyn Daughenbaugh and her husband Gary of Saegertown; three great granddaughters, Bailey Miller, Devan Daughenbaugh and Carletta Daughenbaugh; her step-mother, Lois Bertram of Saegertown; a half-brother, Dr. James Bertram and his wife Suzie of Saegertown; a half-sister, Kenlo Bertram of Meadville and a niece, Sarah Bertram of Saegertown.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling hours will be today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Aschmann, Pastor of Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie, officiating.

Burial will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Care Center, 20881 State Hwy., 198, Saegertown, PA 16433 or the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
