Dwight M. Gage

Less than a month before he would have been 100 years old, Dwight M. Gage, veteran farmer and resident of Crawford County for 85 years, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his son, Jesse M. Gage, on the Blooming Valley road in West Mead Township.

Engaged in farming all of his life, Mr. Gage was born in Busti, NY and at the age of 14, came to Crawford County.

He spent most of his life in this county.

Last year, relatives and friends gathered for a celebration of his 99th birthday.

Seven brothers and four sisters all preceded him in death.  He is survived by the son, four grandsons, Willis B., G. Wilbur, Wayne N. and Homer D. Gage, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Lawrence Eckert of Meadville and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery.
