E. Jean Stephens, 88, of Meadville, died Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Homestead August 9, 1919, a daughter of the late Joseph and Olive Wittenbrook Reed. She married Carl P. Stephens November 18, 1942 and he preceded her in death January 7, 1995.
A homemaker, Jean was a member of Park Congregational Church, Order of Eastern Star, and enjoyed card club, crocheting, and ceramics.
Survivors include a son, Bradley C. Stephens and his wife Nancy of Saegertown; 5 grandchildren, Kristy Konetsky, Kati Stephens, Kelly Moody, Lisa Woods, and David Stephens; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Evans of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William J. Stephens and a sister, Margaret Johnson.
Calling hours are today (Tuesday) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with an Order of Eastern Star service at 6:00 p.m.
A funeral and committal service will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David E. Bault officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
