Earl R. Waid, 86, of Guys Mills, died Friday, July 13, 1984, after an extended illness, at North Park Manor, where he had been a patient for the past four years.
He was born at Sistersville, WV, October 22, 1897, a son of Fred and Cora Armstrong Waid. He married Marian Byham, December 4, 1916.
Mr. Waid had worked as a farmer in Randolph Township and was also employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He had also been the owner/operator for 10 years of Waid's Store, Black Ash. He attended United Church of Guys Mills.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, Howard Waid of Youngstown, Russell Waid of Parma Heights, OH, Norman E. Waid and David Waid, both of Guys Mills; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Addie; three sons, Alex, Leverette and Charles and a grandson, Dale; three brothers and one sister.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Radle Cemetery.
