Edith H. Strawbridge

September 9, 1898 — January 1, 1753

Miss Edith Strawbridge, 43, a teacher in the Meadville public schools for more than 18 years, died at her home, of Meadville, Saturday morning about 9 o'clock.

She was graduated from Edinboro State Teachers College in 1919, and before beginning her work in Meadville in September of 1923, she taught in Wayne and Randolph Townships in this county, and at Farrell.  She had attended summer session at Allegheny College several years.

Her work here was in the Second District School, where she taught sixth grade.  Since the institution of departmental work in the city schools some years ago, her subjects had been history and geography.

Miss Strawbridge was born at Black Ash, and was an active member of the Methodist there for many years, although recently, her membership had been in Grace Methodist Church in Meadville.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Anna Strawbridge of Black Ash; two brothers, Arthur of Erie and James of Franklin.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Black Ash Cemetery.
