Edith Irene Cunningham

Edith Irene Cunningham, 83, of Wesley Way, Meadville and formerly of Guys Mills, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born in South Shenango Twp., Crawford County, February 12, 1930 a daughter of Willard R. (Bruce) and Ethel L. Davis Taylor.  She married Philip J. Cunningham June 7, 1969 and he preceded her in death June 19, 2011.

She was a 1951 graduate of Cochranton High School and worked as a cashier at the Meadville Super Duper from 1964-1982.  She attended St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church.  She was an avid quilter, making many beautiful quilts over the years.  She also especially enjoyed her dog and companion Reenie

She is survived by four sisters, Gladys Karns of Cochranton, Lenora Ann Malliard, L. Lucille Stephens and Alberta J. Greathouse and her husband Bud all of Meadville; a brother, Larry R. Taylor and his wife Barbara of Somerset, PA; four step-brothers, William Spencer, Charles Spencer, David Spencer and Herschel Spencer all of Greenville; a step-sister, Betty Mohr of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a step-mother, Strossie Taylor; a brother, Willard R. Taylor and a sister, Emma Mae West.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 505 Poplar Street, Suite 310, Meadville, PA 16335.
