Mrs. Edith M. Stevens, 73, wife of Roy M. Stevens, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Tuesday afternoon, May 4, 1965, after a long illness.
A member of First Baptist Church, she was affiliated with its Plus Ultra Class and Martha Missionary Circle. She was a charter member of National Council of Baptist Women, a member of the Ladies Advisory Committee at City Hospital, Sterling Club of Meadville and Senior Citizens Club of Ozona, FL.
Mrs. Stevens was born in Sugar Grove Township, Warren County, June 9, 1891, a daughter of Edmund and Jennie Arters Pilling. Her first husband, Charles M. Lake, died March 31, 1941.
Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Mrs. Dana (Marian) Dahl of Meadville, Mrs. Helen Lake Smith of Los Angeles and Miss Ethlyn Lake of Meadville; a son, John E. Lake of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Durlin of Pittsfield; a brother, Henry Pilling of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
