Edna Amy, 92, formerly of Lakemont Drive, Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there Sunday, January 30, 2005.
She was born in Libertyville, IL April 30, 1912 a daughter of H. Findley and Gertrude Stockwell Guyot. She married Robert N. Amy September 3, 1932 and he preceded her in death May 3, 1963.
She worked as office secretary at Stone United Methodist Church and previously worked for many years in the Crawford County Extension Office of Penn State Univ. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church for over 60 years, a former Sunday school teacher and its United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women, Sunset Auxiliary at Wesbury and Golden Crown Chapter, Order of Easter Star. She was an avid reader and kept up on current events. She also especially enjoyed her family.
Survivors, include: one daughter, Roberta “Becky” Bailey and her husband Dr. Alan of Meadville; three grandchildren, Dr. Todd A. Bailey of Meadville, Bret A. Bailey and his wife Vicki of Herndon, VA and Matthew A. Bailey and his wife Jodi of Duluth, GA; five great grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, Ethan, Chelsea and Amber Bailey; one great great grandson, Cameron Bailey and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Guyot, Hubert Guyot and an infant brother and one sister, Helen Kightlinger.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William L. Brown, Assoc. Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Meadville Public Library, 848 N. Main Street or Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
