Edna H. Dengler, 83, of Stoltz Road, Saegertown, died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born May 11, 1920 in Rockdale Twp., Crawford Co., a daughter of Carl and Alice Thomas Henry. She married Henry H. Dengler December 21 1944 and her preceded her in death May 10, 2000.
She was a graduate of Lincolnville High School and a 1942 graduate of the Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for Meadville City Hospital, Crawford County Home, Visiting Nurses Association, the former San Rosario Nursing Home in Cambridge Springs and in private duty in Erie.
She was a member of the Cambridge Springs Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and a former Sunday School teacher.
Survivors, include two daughters, Carolyn Dengler of Hawk Run, PA and Connie Vivian and her husband Jack of Blooming Valley; two sons, Charles Dengler and his wife Judith of Saegertown and Chris Dengler and his wife Laura of Saegertown; a sister, Elva Steadman of Townville, five grandchildren, Tracey Dengler-Crawford, Jeff Vivian, Melissa Dengler, Carrie Vivian Webster and Alicia Dengler and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Myrth King and two brothers, Charlie and Clarence Henry.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville
The funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Woodring, Pastor of the Cambridge Springs Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Cambridge Springs Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 233 Church Street, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403.
