Edna Hart Spaulding, 94, formerly of State Rt. 198, Guys Mills, PA died Sunday, August 24, 2008 under Hospice care along with many months of previous care by Arleen Spaulding and granddaughter, Colleen Miller, at her daughter, Mary Adsit’s home in Ft. Meade, FL.
She was born in Cochranton, April 3, 1914 a daughter of Edmund and Bertha May Flaugh Hart. She married Hugh Spaulding and he preceded her in death in 1970.
She worked as a cook at the Crawford County Care Center retiring in 1970. She subsequently worked at Talon for several years and then as a waitress at several area restaurants.
She was a member of St. Marks United Church of Christ.
Survivors, include: 8 children, Jack Boulton (Genevieve) of Old Fort, NC, Mary L. Adsit (Gordon) of Ft. Meade, FL, Joseph Spaulding of Guys Mills, Donald Spaulding (Arleen) of Crawfordville, FL, Audley Spaulding of Conneaut Lake, Diane Porter (Ralph) of Atlanta, GA, James Spaulding (Peggy) of Guys Mills and Linda Spaulding of Memphis, TN; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Following cremation, private family services will be held at a later date in Cochranton Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
