Edson S. Whitehead

Edson S. Whitehead, 84, of Conneaut Lake, died Saturday, September 23, 1995, at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a period of declining health.

He was born May 31, 1911 in Cochranton, PA, a son of Charles E. P. and Francis Spear Whitehead.  He married Virginia Armour November 28, 1935.  She preceded him in death May 7, 1988.

He retired as an engineer form the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad in 1973 after forty years of service.  He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.  He was a graduate of Cochranton High School and attended Edinboro Normal School.  He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #408, Erie Consistory, Zem Zem Shrine Club and the Crawford County Shrine Club.

Survivors include three sons, Dale W. Whitehead of Conneaut Lake, Gary A. Whitehead of Guys Mills and John R. Whitehead of Evansville, IN and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Waite and an infant brother, Stuart Russell Whitehead.

Services were held with the  Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
