Edward C. Bayer, 82, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018.
He was born July 13, 1935 in Meadville, a son of Carl and Flossie Norris Bayer.
Ed was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1954 to 1956 stationed in the Philippines. He worked for Sunbeam, C & J Industries, Amcast Products and was a self-employed welder. He also worked for Merle Spaid doing fencing work and filling silage and corn bags.
Ed was of the Christian faith. He was a former member of the Norrisville Sportsman’s Club and former Kownty Wide 4-H Club leader. He loved welding and fabrication projects and hunting with his grandson Robby.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Gordon and her husband John of Titusville and Lona Granda and her husband Ernie of Conneaut Lake; four grandchildren, Robby, Nneka, Damien, and JP; four brothers, George Bayer and his wife Minnie of Tennessee, Minor Bayer and his wife Barb of Blooming Valley, Joe Bayer of Meadville, and Frank Bayer and his wife Karen of Mentor, OH; a sister-in-law, Betty Bayer of Meadville and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Kenny Bayer and two sisters, Ruth Steele and Helen Bayer.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at a later date.
