Edward D. Pugh, 83, Meadville went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family at home on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
He was born February 17, 1937 in Catron, MO a son of Deleon and Lillie Mae Duke Pugh. He married Lisa Ragin July 5, 2009 and she survives.
He grew up in South East Missouri the fourth oldest of ten children. He learned from his parents at an early age the value of hard work, going to church on Sunday and getting a good education. He attended Southern Illinois University and earned his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in 1974 and 1975 respectively from Western Michigan University.
He worked for 7.5 years with Alexander Proudfoot Co. a productivity consulting firm, over 2 years with Dunlop Tire in Buffalo, NY as Manager of Manufacturing Training and Development, 6 years owning his own company, Arron Associates in Pittsburgh, 5 years as an executive assistant to State Senator Jack Wagner of the 42nd Senatorial district and most recently for five years as Coordinator of Workforce Development and Employee training in the Auditor General’s Office of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He retired from this position in 2010. In his retirement he drove a school bus for Hubbard Bus Service. He got great joy from seeing and talking with the children on his bus.
He served in the US Army Reserves, is Past President of the South Haven Jaycees and was a member of a Rotary International Group Study Exchange to the Black Forest region of Germany. He was a member of Beacon Liberty Street Church of God in Christ. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Lisa of 11 years, include six step children, nine grandchildren, a sister, four brothers and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Calling hours will be Monday, November 2nd from 4-6 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Mr. Harold Goodrum of Beacon Liberty Church, officiating.
