Edward E. Scott, 70, formerly of Meadville and a current resident of Stanhope, NJ died there unexpectedly Monday, January 15, 2007.
He was born in Atlantic, Iowa September 12, 1936, a son of the late Howard and Alice May Lewis Scott. He married Masako Saito August 14, 1967.
He was a 1955 graduate of Meadville High School and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps., Air Force, and Army from 1955 to 1976. He subsequently worked as a tool maker at Channellock for 20 years. He was a member of the Meadville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 and formerly enjoyed bowling and coaching youth sports.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include 4 sons, Eric Laventure and his wife Kim of San Diego, CA; Mark Laventure and his wife Pat of Minnesota; Edward Scott and his wife Heather of Cambridge Springs; and Michael Scott and his wife Jamie of Albion; 8 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepmother, Dorothy Scott and 3 sisters.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rod Beardsley, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Cambridge Springs officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
