Edward Harrison McFadden, 62, assistant storekeeper of the Meadville plant of the American Viscose Corporation, died suddenly of coronary occlusion while at his work this morning.
He became ill and fell while in the plant yard.
Mr. McFadden had been at the Meadville plant since 1929, when he was transferred from the company's Marcus Hook plant. He came here as storekeeper as his health failed in recent years.
Born at Glenolden, near Philadelphia, on October 22, 1888. He was the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Edward McFadden. He attended University of Pennsylvania and University of Pittsburgh.
Before his connection with Avisco, he had been employed by Sun Oil Company and Sun Ship Company at Marcus Hook.
Surviving are his widow, Marie; a son, William of Lyndhurst; a daughter, Ruth Watters of Athens, GA; five grandsons; a brother, J. M. McFadden of Mt. Lebanon; two sisters, Miss Marquerite McFadden of Pittsburgh and Mrs. George Cooper of Pelham, NY.
Mr. McFadden was a member of Stone Methodist Church and a member of its official board.
He also was a member Philo Lodge, F and AM, Philadelphia; Solomon Royal Arch Chapter of Meadville; NW Commandery and New Castle Consistory.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
