Edward J. Baker, 74, of Saegertown, died October 29, 1992, at home after an illness of several months.
He was born in Punxsutawney, May 4, 1918, a son of Edward J. and Edith Gary Baker, Sr. He married Viola B. Pierce on March 2, 1940. She survives.
Edward was a graduate of Cleveland Public Schools. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He retired in 1971 as Game Management Agent with the US Fish and Wildlife Service after 21 years.
He was a member of the Meadville Lions Club, Hayfield Grange and the French Creek Valley Antique Automobile Club.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include a son, Edward J. Baker, III of Chestnut Hills, MA; a sister, Mary Lou Fisher of Wickenburg, AZ; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith L. Brust and two brothers.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
