Edward L. Dinger, 87, of Meadville, and formerly of Dubois and Girard, OH, died at City Hospital, Tuesday, January 1, 1985.
He was born at Treasure Lake, Clearfield County, October 22, 1897, a son of William and Anna Uber Dinger. He married Elsie A. Greene in 1925. She died in 1971. He subsequently married Edna Rhodes in 1972. She survives.
He was retired as a roller for McDonald Steel Mill, McDonald, OH, after 39 years of services.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its men's Bible Class, Cussewago Odd Fellows Lodge #108, and a former member of Olympus Encampment No. 82.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, the Rev. Edward Eugene Dinger of Cadogan; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Hummel of Rockton and Mrs. Arveda Strunk of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and a sister, Elizabeth Harrington.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Morningside Cemetery, Dubois.
