Edward Lee Johnston

Edward Lee Johnston, 58, of Meadville, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born December 21, 1940 in Meadville, a son of Earl E. and Esther M. Boyd Johnston.  He married Audrey Barbara Bauer January 6, 1978.  She survives.

He was a 1959 graduate of the Pittsburgh School for the Blind and a 1980 graduate of Pierce College in Los Angeles, CA with a BA degree in environmental services.  He worked as an executive housekeeper at the Medical Center of Tarzana, CA for 8 years.  He especially enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his mother of Meadville; a son, Edward L. Johnston, Jr. (Nancy) of Miami, FL; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Terri Lee) Butler of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Scott (Carol Ann) Reithmiller of Charlotte, NC; a step son, David Smith of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lynn (Anna) Ehrgott of Meadville; three brothers, Walter Johnston (Judy) of Meadville, James Johnston of Meadville and Robert Johnston of Colorado Springs, CO and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
