Edward W. Hosick

March 23, 1938 — April 7, 2004

Edward W. Hosick, Jr., 66, of 28272 Plank Rd., Guys Mills, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Littles Corners, PA March 23, 1938 a son of Edward W. and Cordia Thompson Hosick.  He married Catherine Huckleberry July 14, 1958 and she survives.

He worked as a foreman with Adams Pipeline Construction for approximately 25 years, then with Smathers Pipeline Construction for approximately 10 years and then with D & D Enterprises.

He was a graduate of Saegertown High School and then served in the US Navy.  He was a member of Meadville Elks Lodge #219 and he enjoyed stockcar racing, bowling, working outdoors with his flowers and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Donna of 45 years, include three sons, Edward W. Hosick III and his wife Terri of Meadville, Kenny Hosick and his wife Theresa of Guys Mills and Harry Hosick and his wife Kim of Guys Mills; one daughter, Janice Mercier and her husband George of Conneaut Lake; his mother Cordia Hosick of Conneautville; one sister, Doris Reagle and her husband Jim of North Carolina; one brother, Alva James Hosick and his wife Liz of Meadville; eight grandchildren, Harry James Hosick Jr., Timothy Lee Hosick, Kayla Marie Hosick, Jeremy Michael Hosick, Matthew Ryan Hosick, Justin Lee Hosick, Kenneth Lee Hosick and Braden Joseph Mercier; two step grandchildren, Raeann Davis and Dawnelle Luppe and five step great grandchildren, Shawna Davis, Bridgette Carner, John Cottrell, Aaron Luppe and Rebecca Luppe and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Lee Hosick.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with an Elks service at 7:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. W. Dale Adams, friend of the family, officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
