Edythe King

Edythe King, 95, of Conneaut Lake and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, died there, Sunday, March 20, 2016. She was born October 22, 1920 in Barnum, MN and she married Eldon L. King January 6, 1941 and he preceded her in death February 12, 2002. She was a member of Sunnyside Mennonite Church and enjoyed quilting, embroidery and baking. She entered many quilts and baked goods over the years at both the Jamestown Community Fail and the Crawford County Fair often winning first prize. She is survived by nine children, Marilyn Hassink of Cleveland, Judy Newman and her companion Bob Alexander of Meadville, Robert King and his wife Linda of Harmonsburg, Sharon Shrock and her husband Eli of Hartstown, Becky Mowris and her husband Burnie of Meadville, Diane Carpenter of Meadville, Cindy Jimenz and her husband Hector of Meadville, Linda King of South Carolina and Paul King of Harmonsburg, fifteen grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Beth King and Lynette Spencer; a son, Marlan King; two grandsons, Kenneth Hassink, Jr. and Dale Higgins; a granddaughter, Maribeth Hassink; a great granddaughter, Victoria King; a great grandson, Zane King; five sisters, a brother, an adoptive sister and two adoptive brothers. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 12981 Foust Road, Conneaut Lake. The funeral service will follow, Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Rob Esh officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Care Center (for the Activity Fund), 20881 State Hwy 198, Saegertown, PA 16433.
