Effie Bell Free

Mrs. Effie Bell Free, 91, of Cochranton, formerly of Conneaut Lake, died Monday, October 16, 1972, at City Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Free was born on December 3, 1880, on French Creek Township, Mercer County, a daughter of Joseph Bell and Olive Shirk Bell.  She married Harvey E. Free on May 16, 1900.  Mr. Free preceded his wife in death.  Mrs. Free was a member of the Watson Run United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Walter (Estelle) Hardwick of Conneaut Lake, Mrs. Redden (Olive) Terril of Cochranton, Mrs. Alan (Mary) Copeland of Cambridge Springs and Mrs. Russel (Helen) Smith of Cochranton; four sons, Lawrence E. of Erie, W. Lester of Altanta, GA, Sylvester of Los Angeles, CA and Joseph H. of Conneaut Lake; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Nellie) Amdal, a sister, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Palm and a brother, Earl Free.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
