Effie Pryor Burgwin, 82, widow of Dr. C. W. Burgwin, died Wednesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John W. Tracy, where she had resided since May 1947.
A daughter of Peter Lovell and Eleanor Nickle Pryor, she was born in Rockdale Township, Venango County, where she spent her early life.
She graduated from Clarion normal school and for several years taught in public schools. She was married September 3, 1903, to Dr. Burgwin and resided at Parkers Landing, Armstrong County, until 1909 when she and her husband moved to Guys Mills, where Dr. Burgwin practiced until the beginning of his final illness. He died December 25, 1946.
Mrs. Burgwin was active in the Sunday School of Guys Mills Methodist Church, and later became a member of Stone Methodist Church and the Beacon Light Class of the church.
Surviving, besides Mrs. Tracy, are a son, Stephen L. of White Bear Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harry McElwain of Sarasota, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Radle Cemetery, Randolph Township.
