Eleanor Plattner Thomas

June 6, 1896 — August 23, 1981

Mrs. Eleanor Plattner Thomas, 85, of Meadville, wife of Kyle M. Thomas, died at Mead Nursing Home Sunday, August 23, 1981, following a lengthy illness.

She was born at Pittsfield, Warren County, June 6, 1896, a daughter  of John and Margaret Gibson Chambers.  She married Edwin D. Plattner in 1914.  He died in 1934.  She subsequently married Kyle M. Thomas on February 21, 1959.

She had been employed at Talon Inc. for 10 years and prior to that was employed by Meadville Laundrymat.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Neal (Violet) Britton of Meadville; three sons, Ardie L. of Cooperstown, Wayne E. of Maybee, MI and Clyde L. of Canton, MI; a brother, Ira Chambers of Meadville; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and eight brothers.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
