Elizabeth A. Benson

Elizabeth A. Benson, 83, retired in 1973 as head nurse in the maternity department at the former City Hospital in Meadville after 20 years service.

Benson, of Meadville, died Thursday, July 21, 1994, at Meadville Medical Center, following a period of declining health.

She was born February 9, 1911, in Chesterfield, IL, a daughter of the Rev. Charles and Neenah (White) Trueblood.  She married David A. Benson.  He preceded her in death on September 26, 1984.

She was a graduate of Saginaw General Hospital School of Nursing, Saginaw, MI.  She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church in Meadville and the Golden Crown Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Meadville.

Survivors include a son, Eric J. Benson of Meadville; a brother, Brooks Trueblood of Hillsboro, OH; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gwyn Trueblood.

Services were held at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
