Elizabeth A. Hammitt, 75, of Mars, PA and formerly of Martha Drive, Meadville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at UPMC Passavant Cranberry following a short illness.
She was born in Coatesville, PA May 25, 1932 a daughter of Helen McComsey Dyer. She married Gene M. Hammitt July 26, 1958 and he preceded her in death September 23, 2005.
She was a graduate of Coatesville High School and a beauty academy in Philadelphia. She was a member of Dutilh United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women and 55+ Club in Cranberry Twp., PA and she was a former member of Stone United Methodist Church its Church Choir and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors, include: a daughter, Deborah A. Little of Seven Fields, PA and two granddaughters, Caitlin Marie Little and Courtney Nichole Little.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 – 11:45 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville
The funeral service will follow Saturday at 12 p.m. at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main Street. Meadville with Rev. Jaye Langley, Pastor of Dutilh United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
