Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson Gehr, 89, formerly of Harmonsburg, died Thursday, October 15, 1959, at Summerfield, FL, where she had lived for the past 15 years.
Mrs. Gehr was born at Kinsman, OH, September 10, 1870, a daughter of William and Hannah (Betts) Jackson. She was married to Almond Gehr, who died in 1903.
She was a well-known nurse and operated a convalescent home in Youngstown, OH, for several years. She was a member of the Mother Church, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Mass., being one of its earliest members. She also was a member of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Youngstown.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Josephine) DeWalt of Summerfield; a son, Carl C. Gehr of Marathon, FL; a brother, Fred L. Jackson of Harmonsburg; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
