Elizabeth Ruth Walk Bender

Elizabeth Ruth Walk Bender, (Age), of 21737 Star Rt., Meadville and formerly of West 29th St., Erie, died April 23, 2004 at the Meadville Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born April 14, 1922 in Retort (Center Co.), PA a daughter of Michael J. and Elizabeth Ann (Ladenberger) Walk.  She married Charles H. Bender October 26, 1946 and he survives.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 57 years, include three sons, C. Mark Bender and his wife Susan of Port St. Lucie, FL, John A. Bender of Saegertown and Paul G. Bender and his wife Deborah of Anchorage, AK; one daughter, Regina M. Giles and her husband Greggory of Meadville; three sisters, Judith Kircher and her husband Leroy of Saegertown, Virginia Walk of Phoenix, AZ andd Frances Wisgirda and her husband Donald of Conneaut Lake; three brothers, Edward Walk and his wife Vinnie of Meadville, William Walk of Meadville and George Walk and his wife Sylvia of Erie; five grandchildren, Christopher M. Bender and his wife Lisa of Vero Beach, FL, Brian S. Bender and his wife Mary Ann of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kirsten E. Giles Fink and her husband David of Erie, Geoffrey E. Giles of Meadville and Evan G. Giles of Meadville; two step grandchildren, Tara Hergenhan of New York City and Ryan Hergenhan of Maine and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Church of God, Meadville at a date to be announced.

The family suggests memorials be made to Cornerstone Church of God Youth, 18320 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
