Elizabeth Sybrandt, 92, formerly of Hillside Home, Meadville and a current resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died there Saturday, March 17, 2007.
She was born in Greenville June 29, 1914, a daughter of the late Robert and Clara Shollenberger McElhaney. She married John S. Sybrandt September 11, 1937 and he preceded her in death March 3, 1987.
She was a graduate of the former Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing. She was a homemaker and former member of the City Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for many years in the hospital coffee shop.
She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was formerly active in the MCR Class and was past president of the Missionary Society.
Survivors include a son, Gary L. Sybrandt of Meadville; 2 grandsons, John and David Myers; great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Biller of Greenville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert McElhaney.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral service will be Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Walton, Pastor of First Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
