Mrs. Ella I. Shaw, 98, formerly of Meadville, died Sunday, March 16, 1975, after a short illness at the Presbyterian Home, Cambridge Springs, where she had been a patient for nine and one-half years.
She was born in Grove City on July 1, 1876, a daughter of John and Jane Black McDougall. She was the widow of J. Dillon Shaw who died in 1953.
Mrs. Shaw resided for 50 years in Findley Township, Mercer County, and at the time of her death was the oldest member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church of Mercer. She was a member of the church's Hart Bible Class and while in Meadville, attended the Priscilla Society of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Fred (Annabel) Miller of Corry; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Nelda McDougall of Grove City; three grandchildren, Raymond Miller of Meadville, William Miller of Corry and Mrs. David (Ella Mae) Fleming of Erie; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six sisters, four brothers and two grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Mercer Citizens Cemetery.
