Ella Rierson Rowe

Ella Rierson Rowe, 83, a former Rock Springs, MD, resident and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, PA, since June 1995, died Friday, March 1, 1996 at Wesbury following a period of declining health.

She was born June 18, 1912, in Middle River, MD, a daughter of the late Frederick and Emma Winkler Magsamen.  She was first married to William H. Rierson, December 24, 1933 and he preceded her in death December 12, 1964.  She subsequently married Richard S. Rowe, November 6, 1971, he survives.

She retired in 1972 as a cafeteria manager in the public schools of Baltimore County after 20 years of service.  She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Baltimore, and a member and Past Worthy Matron of Jeptha Chapter, Order of Eastern Star of Middle River, MD.

Survivors in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Catherine R. Foster of Meadville; a sister, Margaret Rierson of Baltimore; two brothers, Richard Magsamen of Baltimore and Frederick Magsamen of Fawn Grove, PA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her first husband, was a son, William R. Rierson and a sister, Myrtle Howell.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Baltimore.
