Ella Steele

Ella Steele, 89, formerly of Franklin and a resident of United Methodist Nursing Home and Hospital since January 1977, died at Spencer Hospital, Monday, May 3, 1982, following an illness of several months.

She was born at Selinsgrove, Snyder County, January 28, 1893.  She married Rood P. Steele June 24, 1916.  He died August 15, 1972.

A member of Christ United Methodist Church, Franklin, she taught Sunday School there for over 50 years and also was a former member of the church choir and past president of Christ Church United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Steele is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Peggy) Quoresimo of Willoughby, OH; four sons, Eugene L. Steele of Jamestown, NY, Donald W. Steele of San Diego, Glenn A. Steele of Franklin and Harry E. Steele of Pittsburgh; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gelaldine.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Franklin Cemetery.
