Ella Zulovich Styer, 85, of Meadville died Thursday, June 1, 2017 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. She was born in Edinboro August 4, 1931 to Steve and Mary Mihalic Zulovich. She married Dewey E. Styer June 5, 1954 and he preceded her in death December 9, 2013. She was a 1949 graduate of Edinboro High School and attended Erie Business College. She had a career in banking and retired from the Crawford County Trust where she became Head Teller. She also assisted her husband in the running of the family dairy farm, working along side him in the fields and in the daily care of countless farm animals. Ella was a member of St. John's Community Church of God, the PA Farmers Association Women's Committee and the Crawford County Extension Board. She was the Union Township Auditor for 18 years and a 4-H leader. Ella was the caretaker of several family members. She always managed to feed anyone who stopped by for a visit and always sent them on their way with extra to feed their family. She loved to square dance and polka. She was known for her generosity of spirit and for being extremely hard working and determined. One of the mighty oaks has fallen. Ella leaves a legacy of acceptance, inclusion, and kindness. May we all live by her example. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Marteeny and her husband Donald of Centerville and Marjorie Klein and her husband Richard of Cambridge Springs; a grandson, Donald E. Marteeny III and his wife Marie of Centerville; a great grandson, Maxwell Donald Carl Marteeny; a great granddaughter, Eleanor Louise Marteeny; and a brother, Steve Zulovich of Edinboro. She was a surrogate mom and beloved aunt to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Mike, her sister Anna, and her sister Mary. The family thanks Family to Family Home Health Care, Kim Sippy, and Ella's many caregivers for their dedication and loving care of our beloved Ella. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Robert Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Shawn J. Clerkin, officiating. Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
